Harlaxton Experiences
Harlaxton is excited to offer some extra special experiences in Summer 2026. There are a variety of retreats and conferences which offer opportunities for you to enjoy life in the grand manor and connect with a particular theme. Check out the latest SoTL Teaching Conference, Nursing Immersion programme or the inaugural Women in Agriculture Retreat below all offered over the summer months. This program is directed toward those writing for the “kidlit” market (i.e. those writing for children and teens). Participants will have a student experience at Harlaxton Manor and enjoy tours and activities exclusive to this beautiful and inspirational setting, along with ample time for writing. The main focuses of this retreat are to build community with other writers and to give attendees the time to work on their projects away from the stresses of daily life.
The base program price, which includes the itinerary below through Friday, will be $1550/participant. The extra day trip to Cambridge and overnight to Sunday will be an additional $150/participant. Participants are welcome to bring family members to stay at the manor and participate in Harlaxton activities for an additional $800/guest for the program. Participants are welcome to stay in their student rooms for additional nights at the Manor for $200 per person per night including full board (3 meals a day). This can only be accommodated if it is pre-booked.
There is a $250 deposit due upon booking for this program, which is only refundable until the deposit deadline of March 1. After that date, registrants will be prompted to pay their final balance, which is only refundable until the final payment deadline of April 15.

This self-directed retreat offers academic writers focused time to work on their projects in the serene setting of Harlaxton Manor. Participants can enjoy a peaceful escape, connect with fellow scholars, and make meaningful progress toward their writing goals.
The base program runs through Saturday and includes lodging, meals, and activities for $1,550. An optional extra trip to Cambridge and overnight to Sunday adds $150/participant. A guest sharing your room and joining all activities is $800 per person.

Join us for the SoTL Teaching and Learning Summer Conference at Harlaxton College, 17th – 20th June 2026! This conference is designed for professional development in higher education pedagogy for all levels of teaching experience: advance graduate students, early-career faculty, and experienced faculty.

We are now accepting proposals that describe empirical studies of SoTL, theoretical discussions of SoTL, and descriptions of best practice of teaching.

Immerse yourself in the British countryside as you expand your understanding of global nursing and health care issues! Harlaxton College is proud to present the Nightingale and Nursing in the UK: A Harlaxton Nursing Immersion. Join us this summer in our unique manor house for a retreat designed for nurses and nurse educators. We will host a series of interactive sessions with local health care providers around the theme of nursing and health care in the British health care system, along with nursing and health care related visits across England. Field trips include historical and cultural sites in London and rural England. This experience has been approved for ANCC nursing contact hours by Indiana University School of Medicine.
Your visit to England and Harlaxton Manor also includes an immersion in the British culture with visits to local castles, a welcome reception, a traditional pub dinner, and a paint and sip evening. There will be ample time for forging new friendships amongst other nurses and nurse educators in this exceptional setting. At the end of the week, we will say goodbye with a high tea in the State Rooms.
