Insurance

Every student that participates in the Harlaxton program will be covered by EIIA International Travel Insurance during their time abroad. It covers emergency medical situations (not things like lost luggage or flight delays), including new illnesses or medical issues that are covered at our local clinic partner, Welby Healthcare.

Medical Care

Harlaxton College is committed to helping students keep well or recover quickly while they are here. In case of a medical emergency, ambulances staffed by paramedics can reach the college quickly for “home” visits and care or transfer students to the nearest hospital.

Welby Student Healthcare is a private sub-division of a large family medicine provider in Lincolnshire, UK. They have created bespoke healthcare options for Harlaxton students known as their Peace of Mind Package. With pre-existing conditions not being covered by standard travel insurance, Welby offers these packages as a proactive safety net for students.

•  Aware:

A comprehensive health and wellbeing check, scheduled when you arrive and a follow-up with Welby nurses and clinicians. Clinical record created with access to appointment ledger for ease of access to services. Medications added to the record to ensure access to more if needed. Additional appointments will be 10% off.

•  Care:

Is the aware package features PLUS: an additional clinical appointment at 20% discounted rate that can be used for follow-up or anything new that arises while studying at Harlaxton. Further appointments needed would be at the same discounted rate.

• Complete:

Is the aware package features PLUS: the potential of up to weekly appointments if the student needs them. Includes access to dedicated mental health nurse appointments if needed too. Considered the complete Peace of Mind, wrap around package.

Disability Services

Harlaxton strives to be a leading provider in assisting students with disability accommodations. We encourage you to inquire about the possibilities of studying at Harlaxton and how the Manor team can help make this a reality. You can request accommodations through your institution’s disability office and study abroad office. This should be done the semester prior to attending Harlaxton to give ample time to review requests and arrange accommodations. Only official requests will be considered.
